Information is
power.....
Speed is money ..... Why
not have both!
The XPrime Database Accelerator (XDA) for Microsoft®
SQL Server™ 2000 provides revolutionary performance
and excellent return on investment.
The database
dilemma
Over the last 20 years, the relational database
has become a critical and central component of business
infrastructure. Generations of applications have been
written to extract, manage, report, and generally harness
the critical information stored within. More importantly,
the applications have made the database server more
accessible to a wider and more diverse set of users.
More users means more data. More data
directly equates to increased workload on the database
server. Unfortunately, the relationship between database
size and the time it takes to execute user requests
is nonlinear. This is the database dilemma that plagues
today’s database administrators.
For years, the database dilemma has
been the focus of commercial and academic research.
The fruits of these efforts have been less than revolutionary,
and have offered the database administrator little
help
in fulfilling user availability and performance demands.
In general, the practice of partitioning information
into smaller subsets has been the best weapon to counter
the nonlinear aspects of database performance. However,
the more pieces in a puzzle, the more complicated and
time consuming it is to reassemble the picture. In
database terms, this directly equates to the complexity
of database
scheme and the resources required to execute the join
logic.
XPrime
Database Accelerator
The XPrime system makes the nonlinear … linear.
XPrime patent-pending designs use advanced high speed
interconnect technology and main memory database to
provide Microsoft® SQL Server™ 2000 the ability
to linearly scale up to 512 processors and 1 Terabyte
of usable storage.
